Business Development Executive, Remote

Salary: £25-£30k plus uncapped commission

Your new company, founded in 2014, is a tech marketing services startup within the eCommerce space. With a small team spread throughout the world in offices in Newcastle upon Tyne, San José, and Jakarta, this startup is looking to expand their business development team to grow further throughout the world. This fast growing scale-up company drives sustainable revenues in the eCommerce sector from paid digital marketing through their technology and services. Using smart marketing techniques and tools, and basing strategies and campaigns on real-time data insights, they are helping retailers sell to millions of customers worldwide. This company’s technology and services harness social media to deliver brand growth and sustainable sales.

Your role will involve:

  • Booking meetings and filling the pipeline for the sales team
  • Identifying and generating new business opportunities through email, social media, events, webinars, LinkedIn and cold calling
  • Following-up on inbound and outbound marketing leads
  • Identifying qualified opportunities providing appropriate levels of information at the right time for interested prospects
  • Educating and developing prospects prior to passing them onto the closing team
  • Creating clean target prospects lists and penetrating key accounts
  • Participating in cold outreach into prospects
  • Identifying decision-makers and champions within businesses, researching and understanding their requirements and pains, and presenting solutions to begin the sales cycle
  • Helping drive attendance and leads from webinars, white papers, live seminars
  • Collaborating with sales and marketing team members on strategic sales approaches
  • Maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in CRM application

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • You are excited by the technology and services they provide
  • You have 1+ year of successful experience in a sales or business development role
  • You have demonstrated success in prospecting towards SME’s and Enterprise businesses
  • You have experience reaching or exceeding goals, targets and quotas and are results driven
  • You are coachable, willing to learn and adapt, and do not claim to be the finished product
  • You are a self-starter, extremely self-motivated and take initiative without always expecting to be told what to do
  • You have drive and ambition to move into a BDM role
  • You are fluent or a native English speaker
  • You have exceptional phone and written communication skills
  • You have excellent listening skills and a positive and energetic presence
  • You have a high level of integrity, accountability, trust and transparency
  • You have an ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • You will be even more interesting if you have experience with digital marketing and are familiar with Facebook Business Manager.
